SUMMARY:Mary Pat Wager Presents "Remnant / Revelation"
DESCRIPTION:Remnant / Revelation\nIn this solo exhibition\, assemblage sculptor Mary Pat Wager presents a body of steel sculptures and wall pieces constructed from industrial\, agrarian\, and vintage materials — objects sourced from junkyards\, estates\, and the quiet edges of a century that built everything…and preserved almost nothing. Through welding\, deconstruction\, and reconstruction\, Wager forces these remnants into new configurations\, new conversations\, and new meaning. \nThe work does not mourn what was discarded. It interrogates it. Each piece asks what we chose to throw away — and what that choice reveals about us. \nIn Wager’s hands\, a remnant is never only what it was. It becomes a record. A relic. A mirror held up to a culture in the act of forgetting itself. The revelation is not in the transformation of the material — it is in what the material was already trying to say. \nIn the artist’s words\, “I work across metal\, wood\, clay\, and found objects\, often combining them in ways that collapse past and present. The histories embedded in these materials are not erased when I use them; they are layered\, distorted\, and ultimately woven into something new.” \nRemnant / Revelation invites the viewer to reconsider the boundary between waste and witness\, between the end of one story and the beginning of another. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About the Artist\nMary Pat Wager is a sculptor whose work transforms found and salvaged materials — metal\, wood\, clay and the accumulated objects of ordinary life — into three-dimensional forms charged with memory\, history\, and meaning. Working primarily through assemblage\, welding\, casting and fabrication\, she creates sculpture that collapses the distance between past and present\, asking viewers to reckon with what objects carry and what they leave behind. \nWager’s work is held in numerous public and private collections and has been exhibited nationally and internationally across more than four decades of sustained practice. Corporate collections include Blue Cross/Blue Shield\, General Electric\, Key Bank\, McDonald’s Corporation\, Omni Corporation\, and Phoenix Life Insurance. Her work is also held in permanent collections at Castle Breitenbach Sculpture Park\, the Quick Center for the Arts at St. Bonaventure University\, the Schenectady Museum\, and the State University of New York at Albany. \n \n \n \n \n \n Artist’s Reception: Saturday\, July 11th\, 4:00 – 6:00 PM\n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Courthouse Gallery\n1 Lower Amherst Street\nLake George\, NY 12845\n518-668-2616\nHours: \nWednesday – Friday: 12:00 – 5:00 PM\nSaturday: 12:00 – 4:00 PM\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n THANK YOU!\n \n \n \n \n \n Throughout the year\, we offer 17 exhibitions of work by emerging and established artists in our Courthouse Gallery and in partner locations throughout\nLake George. \nWe are able to do this because of the support of our sponsors and LGAP members.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n This program is supported by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

SUMMARY:Artist’s Reception: Marypat Wager "Remnant / Revelation"
DESCRIPTION:About the Reception\nJoin the Lake George Arts Project at the Courthouse Gallery on July 11th to celebrate the opening of Remnant / Revelation\, a solo exhibition of striking assemblage sculptures and wall pieces by acclaimed artist Mary Pat Wager. \nThe opening reception is a wonderful opportunity to meet the artist\, discuss her unique creative process\, and mingle with fellow members of our regional arts community. Light refreshments will be served. \nAbout the Exhibition\nIn Remnant / Revelation\, Mary Pat Wager explores the intersection of history\, industrial waste\, and cultural memory. Her heavy steel and mixed-material sculptures are meticulously constructed from vintage\, industrial\, and agrarian objects rescued from the quiet edges of the last century—sourced from junkyards\, estate sales\, and abandoned sites. \nThrough a laborious process of deconstruction\, welding\, and reconfiguration\, Wager transforms these forgotten remnants of our past into profound\, textured witnesses of human history. Her work does not merely mourn what our culture has cast aside; it interrogates it\, asking what our choices to discard ultimately reveal about who we are. \nRemnant / Revelation will be on display at the Courthouse Gallery from July 8th through August 8th \nGallery Hours\nWednesday through Friday\, 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM\, and Saturdays\, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM. \nThe Courthouse Gallery is located at the side entrance of the historic Old County Courthouse\, on the corner of Canada and Amherst Streets in Lake George Village. SUMMARY:Yen Ha & Anna Rubin Present "A Storm Event"
DESCRIPTION:A Storm Event\nVisual artist YEN HA and musical composer ANNA RUBIN will present a multi-media installation titled A Storm Event\, centered on a series of twelve large works on paper by Yen Ha that are intended to surround the viewers in the form of a continual landscape. The works on paper are extremely detailed and have each been composed from countless short\, individual strokes that\, during the process\, form fluctuating patterns. For this exhibition\, the artist attaches her finished drawings directly to the wall\, without a frame\, so that the viewer feels more directly affected by their physical presence. \nThe exhibition will be infused with the sound of Anna Rubin’s computer generated composition\, composed especially for the occasion\, which incorporates field recordings\, synthesized sounds\, and the artist reading her own poem\, A Storm Event\, in English\, French and Vietnamese. With her installation’s fusion of the visual\, the musical and the linguistic\, Yen Ha is creating an experience for the viewer that doesn’t just appeal to multiple senses at once\, but multiple linguistic forms as well. \nIn Yen Ha’s own words\, “The exhibition surrounds the viewer both visually and aurally in marks that appear to move on the page while sounds weave through the space. The combination of activated senses deepens the connection to the natural experience of a storm\, reminding visitors of the ferocious energy of nature.” The references to nature that abound in A Storm Event has special resonance In the intimate scale of the historic Courthouse Gallery\, with its vintage fireplace and picturesque views of Lake George. \n \n \n \n \n \n About the Artist\nBorn in Saigon\, Yen Ha is an artist and writer who lives in New York City\, where she co-founded the architecture firm\, Front Studio. Ha’s work is supported by fellowships from the Hambidge Center\, Monson Arts and the Virginia Center for Creative Arts. Her LGAP exhibition will be the second iteration of A Storm Event\, which was first presented last year at Artspace in Richmond\, VA. \nAnna Rubin’s music is propelled by her love of the speaking and singing voice as well as environmental and political issues. She has composed for a variety of musical genres including chamber\, choral\, wind and orchestral ensembles. She also incorporates spoken word into electronic sound collages. Her electronic music has accompanied stage\, video and dance. \n \n \n \n \n \n Artist’s Reception: Saturday\, August 22nd\, 4pm – 6pm\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Courthouse Gallery\n1 Lower Amherst Street\nLake George\, NY 12845\n518-668-2616\nHours: \nWednesday – Friday: 12:00 – 5:00 PM\nSaturday: 12:00 – 4:00 PM\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n THANK YOU!\n \n \n \n \n \n Throughout the year\, we offer 17 exhibitions of work by emerging and established artists in our Courthouse Gallery and in partner locations throughout\nLake George.
