After living 30 years in the Adirondack Mountains\, she and her husband have relocated and established their studio in Altamont\, New York.Her explorations in art making are varied. Ms. DeAngelo studied Fine Art at the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. Her concentrations were in Painting and Printmaking. She graduated with a BFA and went on to earn her MSEd from Potsdam College. Working with children has been a passion and inspiration for Ms. DeAngelo. Having taught hundreds of young artists over her career\, Ms. DeAngelo shares their love of exploration and discovery.In addition to teaching art in the classroom setting\, Ms. DeAngelo has facilitated murals\, art clubs\, and community art enrichment programs. Ms. DeAngelo has worked in large scale installation\, mural painting\, studio painting\, sculpture\, printmaking\, fabric arts and jewelry creation. She is a member of the Schenectady Art Society\, Albany Artists Group\, Firehouse Painters and ArtWorks. As a studio artist\, she was an Artist in Residence at Arlene’s Artist Materials for two years\, where she is now a One-on-One Mentor for artists. She continues her explorations of the intersections between personal history and plant forms using printmaking\, painting and stitching. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Artist’s Statment:\nEach of the paintings in this show contains scraps of my life. Some are precious\, my parents’ love letters and my grandfather’s college notes\, while others are more common\, the bits of a mylar birthday balloon or a piece of paint stained paper towel I cleaned my tools with. The “canvas” of the works are playing cards\, each collaged with life pieces held together with paint. Some I have stitched together\, a skill learned from my mother\, that I find myself returning to in cycles within my creative life. The stitches are a tool I used to combine the parts of these works and “draw” with line and color.When creating this body of work\, I gave myself the challenge to limit the color palette of the backgrounds to five colors that I used in varied amounts in every piece in the show. These colors are the bridge between the bits of life collage and the final layer of flora. I chose to create images of flowers because their lifespan is short and is impacted by the environment they bloom in. There is an external beauty in flowers\, but also a beauty in the internal workings that we do not see\, allowing them to grow\, adapt and create food.  I believe that our lives and our sense of self are stitched together from the interactions and environments we have experienced and the actions we choose going forward. We are a quilt of our past and present\, the beautiful parts along with the torn and damaged. Claiming dual citizenship as an Iranian and North American\, he has spent much of his life on the east coast and in Michigan. \nElami works exclusively on paper in an often limited palette\, with the resulting works resembling prints or bookplates. They appear to be timeless\, as if found from a remote past in a secret library. Each piece resembles the type of anthropological or archeological drawings made to document temples\, palaces\, sacrificial sites\, or necropolises found in jungles\, and not fully understood by their discoverers. Elami\, in depicting undefined architectural sites of relics or ruins\, allows us to dream of uses both sacred and profane; to explore the tension between human design and nature on the verge of reclaiming its primacy. Elami’s latest art has developed in tandem with an understanding of the earliest architecture as numinous altars\, and a perception of nature as a roiling mass of aggressive life\, perpetuating itself through overabundance. In this vision\, architecture manifested out of violent\, spiritual rituals\, externalizing what is internal. My work continues this tradition while speaking to contemporary concerns about presence and interaction. I rely on formal content – the meaning extends from color relationships and mark-making\, while engaging with feminist art’s tradition of challenging hierarchical distinctions between abstract and embodied experience. \nWhile the forms in my paintings and sculpture often echo natural and floral shapes\, they deliberately play with and subvert traditionally ‘feminine’ imagery. My sinuous lines and flower-like forms are exaggerated and transformed into something more ambiguous and challenging – sometimes even unsettling. My work takes stereotypically ‘feminine’ organic shapes and makes them monumental\, unavoidable\, and slightly alien. These forms don’t politely decorate – they command space and demand engagement. \nMy recent work explores the choreography of pattern and void. The pieces float and interact like notes in a visual score\, creating rhythms through both color and shape. While I embrace traditionally ‘feminine’ colors like pink\, I deliberately disrupt their sweetness by introducing structural elements and unexpected color combinations. The negative spaces become as important as the forms themselves\, turning the white wall into an active participant in the composition. This interplay between structure and fluidity\, presence and absence\, reflects my interest in how ‘feminine’ imagery can be both acknowledged and challenged within the same piece. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n My early training in dance continues to influence how I think about space\, movement\, and the body’s relationship to its position. Each installation becomes a kind of choreographed environment where forms perform in space\, creating temporal experiences that unfold as viewers move through them. The suspended pieces in particular engage in a slow dance with gravity\, while their shadows create an ever-changing performance on walls and floors. This understanding of movement and spatial relationships informs everything from my initial drawings to final installation decisions. \nBio\nAdria Arch is a mixed media artist living and working in Arlington\, Massachusetts. She is interested in creating immersive experiences with sculpture and paint\, using hand-cut or laser-cut lightweight polystyrene plastic to create sculptural forms that populate my large-scale colorful installations. Her work references the things seen every day- from neighborhood flower gardens to the ever-growing skyline of Boston. She has a vocabulary of shapes that includes ladders\, grids\, and spirals. The installations of hanging painted sculptures are whimsical\, playful spaces that provide an experience of both delight and surprise. \nArch has had solo exhibitions at Danforth Art in Framingham\, MA\, the Art Complex Museum in Duxbury\, MA\, and the Hunt Gallery at Mary Baldwin College in Virginia. She has completed site specific murals at Lesley University’s Porter Square building in Cambridge\, MA\, Stonehill College\, and Danforth Art in Framingham\, MA. Arch has been awarded residencies at Vermont Studio Center\, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts\, Sanskriti Foundation in Delhi\, and in Auvillar\, France. Her work is included in many private and public collections including the DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum\, Fidelity Corporation\, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. In 2019 her work was featured at the Fitchburg Art Museum\, and in 2020 at the Cahoon Museum of American Art. Most recently\, Arch was commissioned by Google to do a room-sized installation. Arch showed installations at the Boston Sculptors Gallery\, Brattleboro Art Museum in Vermont and the Danforth Museum in Framingham\, MA. Their multimedia artworks invite viewers to explore the visible\, hidden\, and symbolic aspects of natural beauty found in aquatic environments. Each artist expresses ideas of interconnection between organisms within ecosystems through imagery such as grids\, nets\, and repeating patterns. \nThis idea for this curated exhibition was conceived after visual artist Lauren Comito received a Community Art Grant from the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council in 2025. The New York City and Huletts Landing-based visual artist used this grant to examine and portray copepods\, tiny crustacean zooplankton\, along with aquatic plants found in Lake George\, bringing to light the interconnected systems that contribute to the purity of the lake. \nComito enlarges the scale of these microscopic organisms through cyanotype prints\, making them visible. The images reveal the delicate and intricate structures of these tiny creatures that play an essential role in filtering and purifying the water\, elevating them to the status of “guardians of the lake.” \nMilcah Bassel\, whose work has been exhibited at the Rubin Museum of Art\, Bronx Museum of the Arts\, and other venues both nationally and internationally\, applies unique materials and processes to explore both cultural and natural structures. Her pieces in the exhibition are inspired by the use of a grid to represent water in ancient civilizations\, creating intersecting rippling patterns on unique pulp papers. \nAmanda Thackray\, who is currently the inaugural Environmental Protection Agency Artist in Residence for the lower Passaic River in New Jersey\, also utilizes grid patterns in handmade paper designs that combine notions of nature\, industry\, and human experience. Her netlike imagery is a malleable grid referencing both organic material and human intervention within an environment. \nBrooklyn-based artist and wildlife rehabilitator Rachel Frank employs various material processes\, including ceramics\, fabric\, and drawing. The material transformations that occur in the art-making process mirror the restorative processes that take place in the healing of lives and habitats. By weaving together elements of the past and present\, this exhibition explores how marginalized communities\, particularly Black families\, experience and navigate the complexities of identity\, memory\, and systemic forces. My work within this exhibition\, including pieces like Brooklyn’s Paradise (2024) and an untitled piece\, draws on fragmented realities to critique and reflect on the forces that shape our lived experiences. Through these works\, I aim to invite viewers to reconsider their assumptions about space\, race\, and identity\, ultimately challenging preconceived notions around Blackness and its portrayal in the public sphere. Brooklyn’s Paradise critiques the New York subway system\, a space that is integral to urban life yet riddled with neglect and violence\, often masked by everyday mundanity. By juxtaposing distorted figures\, subway patrons\, and discarded materials within a surreal landscape\, this piece challenges viewers to confront the violence and alienation that pervade urban spaces\, calling attention to how these issues are often ignored or normalized in society. The untitled piece centers on the intersection of religion\, domestic labor\, and generational teachings\, offering a reflection on how these traditions\, passed down through the generations\, continue to influence Black identity today. Through a mix of archival imagery and color manipulation\, this work explores how faith\, labor\, and family teachings evolve in the context of modern life\, intertwining the past and present. In this way\, the untitled piece delves into how historical practices and teachings continue to shape contemporary Black experiences\, particularly within domestic and familial spheres.   \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n   Both works in this exhibition embody my artistic practice of reframing Black identity through color\, abstraction\, and inversion\, which serves to disrupt racialized perceptions and offer a more nuanced understanding of Blackness. By redefining skin tones and emotional color associations\, I challenge the viewer to move beyond fixed cultural narratives and engage with the radiant\, complex presence of Black identity. The exhibition as a whole invites reflection on how individual histories and societal systems intersect to create our understanding of identity\, space\, and memory. \nArtist Statement  \nI use visual storytelling to confront misunderstandings about my identity and community history\, dismantling entrenched perceptions through manipulated color\, layered materials\, and expressive form. Working primarily in oil paint and acetate\, I build scenes that feel both archival and futuristic—broad\, modernized brushstrokes sweep across transparent layers\, blending digital collage with painterly tactility. Skin tones are inverted or shifted into unnatural hues\, disrupting racialized expectations and inviting viewers to see Blackness not as fixed\, but as radiant\, fluid\, and otherworldly. My figures are suspended in dreamlike environments—gestural yet frozen—rendered in saturated palettes where serene blues veil violence and stark contrasts expose emotional weight. Their gazes pierce outward\, creating a participatory exchange that humanizes and implicates the viewer. Interactive elements\, such as smartphone-enabled color inversion\, deepen this engagement\, asking audiences to reconsider how perception is shaped by both technology and bias. The musicians\, all from Saline High School\, present an energetic and polished show that features a diverse range of music from American folk\, fiddle\, bluegrass\, jazz\, western swing\, and Celtic traditions.  Spirited vocals and Appalachian step dancing combine with the instrumentals to create an unforgettable live performance. \nSaline Fiddlers Philharmonic began in 1994 with a simple idea: introduce an alternative style of music education to public school students to maintain and expand their interest in music performance.  Since then\, the group has definitely set the standard for extracurricular music programs in the United States. It has grown into a model of instruction and motivation that is being emulated across the nation. \nThe widely acclaimed Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic’s history includes more than 1\,500 performances in the majority of the states in our nation.  The group has been honored to perform three times at the White House and twice on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center\, as well as at a State of Michigan’s Presidential Inaugural Ball.  Annual summer tours have spanned the United States from the east coast to the west coast\, down south to up north\, and have also included performances in Canada and tours in Europe\, including visits to Saline’s sister cities of Brecon\, Wales and Lindenberg\, Germany.  Each year the group performs 50-60 times\, generally donating a third of their annual schedule to community service events. \nSaline Fiddlers Philharmonic has shared the stage with many top artists as well as other student groups. A math whiz with a preternatural gift for numbers\, he found himself fascinated with the connections between technology and finance\, and within a decade of graduating\, he’d helped revolutionize the field of quantitative trading\, which in turn transformed Wall Street as we know it. \n“Once I accomplished everything that I’d set out to do in the business world\, I realized that I hadn’t nurtured the artistic side of my life\,” Muller explains. “There was a six-year period where my focus was so intense that I hardly touched my piano. My work was a single-minded obsession.”  \nFeeling spiritually drained\, Muller began drifting away from his work for a period of equally intense focus on his music: busking in the subways\, playing small clubs and cafes\, and writing his own songs for the first time. After releasing a pair of early albums\, he married\, moved to California\, and became a father. While he eventually returned to the business he’d founded\, he remained as dedicated as ever to his craft. In 2014\, he recorded his third album\, Two Truths and a Lie\, which introduced him to Avatar Studios (a New York landmark previously known as The Power Station\, where icons like Bruce Springsteen\, Paul Simon\, David Bowie\, and Bob Dylan had recorded). Upon learning the studio was under threat of being sold and redeveloped as condos\, Muller decided to use his resources in partnership with the City of New York and the Berklee College of Music to save\, renovate\, and re-launch the space as a world-class recording and educational facility. Their repertoire continual expands with Crowmatix songs from their 18 Albums of Originals\, Blues and Americana music and the songs Louie learned and helped create directly with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame group “The Band” when he collaborated with them for over 15 years. Co-producing The Band’s last three CD’s including their comeback hits Atlantic City & Blind Willie Mctell along with many of their 90’s repertoire. Rick Danko gave Louie the moniker “Professor Louie”. \nProfessor Louie & The Crowmatix create a show that is constantly evolving.
