SUMMARY:Hubby Jenkins
DESCRIPTION:About Hubby Jenkins\nHubby Jenkins\, a prominent member of the renowned Carolina Chocolate Drops\, has mesmerized audiences around the world with his virtuosic mastery of the guitar and banjo\, With a voice that echoes with emotion and a fingerpicking style that evokes the very essence of the American South\, Hubby transports listeners to a bygone era\, where the roots of modern music took hold. \nBorn and raised in Brooklyn he delved into his Southern roots\, following the thread of African American history that wove itself through country blues\, ragtime\, fiddle and banjo\, and traditional jazz. Hubby got his higher musical education started as a busker. He developed his guitar and vocal craft on the sidewalks and subway platforms of New York City\, performing material by those venerable artists whose work he was quickly absorbing. An ambitiously itinerant musician\, he took his show on the road\, playing the streets\, coffee shops\, bars\, and house parties of cities around the country. \nAfter years of busking around the U.S and making a name for himself\, Hubby became acquainted with the Carolina Chocolate Drops. He was an integral part of the Grammy award winning Carolina Chocolate Drops from 2010 to 2014. Since 2015 to 2018 he was active in touring and recording member in the Rhiannon Giddens band. He was on her album “Tomorrow Is My Turn” in 2015 and in 2017 “Freedom Highway.”  Drawing inspiration from legends such as Mississippi John Hurt\, Uncle Dave Macon and Lead Belly\, Hubby breathes new life into traditional blues and folk songs\, infusing them with his unique flair and unmistakable authenticity. His music resonates with a deep sense of history\, culture\, and struggle\, capturing the spirit of the early 20th century while adding his own distinct touch. \nIn addition to his remarkable musical talents\, Hubby Jenkins is a passionate advocate for preserving and honoring the cultural heritage of African American musicians who laid the foundation for modern popular music. His commitment to historical accuracy shines through in his performances\, as he takes us on a journey through the deep roots of blues\, folk\, and the African American experience. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n HIS MUSIC\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Hubby Jenkins playing Coo Coo Bird – Rufus Kasey’s version\n \n \n \n \n \n ”Here Here Yonder Go” – Hubby Jenkins\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Learn More about Hubby Jenkins

SUMMARY:The Saline Fiddler's Philharmonic
DESCRIPTION:Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic\nAmerica’s premier youth fiddling show band from Saline\, Michigan\, astounds audiences every time the group takes the stage. The musicians\, all from Saline High School\, present an energetic and polished show that features a diverse range of music from American folk\, fiddle\, bluegrass\, jazz\, western swing\, and Celtic traditions.  Spirited vocals and Appalachian step dancing combine with the instrumentals to create an unforgettable live performance. \nSaline Fiddlers Philharmonic began in 1994 with a simple idea: introduce an alternative style of music education to public school students to maintain and expand their interest in music performance.  Since then\, the group has definitely set the standard for extracurricular music programs in the United States. It has grown into a model of instruction and motivation that is being emulated across the nation. \nThe widely acclaimed Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic’s history includes more than 1\,500 performances in the majority of the states in our nation.  The group has been honored to perform three times at the White House and twice on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center\, as well as at a State of Michigan’s Presidential Inaugural Ball.  Annual summer tours have spanned the United States from the east coast to the west coast\, down south to up north\, and have also included performances in Canada and tours in Europe\, including visits to Saline’s sister cities of Brecon\, Wales and Lindenberg\, Germany.  Each year the group performs 50-60 times\, generally donating a third of their annual schedule to community service events. \nSaline Fiddlers Philharmonic has shared the stage with many top artists as well as other student groups. Especially gratifying is the number of student fiddle organizations which have been started around the country because of inspiration from the Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n “The Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic were outstanding.
