SUMMARY:Brass Queens
DESCRIPTION:Brass Queens\n\n\nBrass Queens is a female-led\, New York-based brass band that has been dominating the brass band scene since 2019. Finding that they shared similar frustrations about the emerging brass band scene in New York City\, co-founders Alex Harris and Ally Chapel came together to form a group dedicated to showcasing the talents of female musicians in a landscape that was dominated by male musicians and bandleaders. After debuting in March 2019\, Brass Queens grew to be a fixture in the local music scene and was dubbed “the hardest working band in town” by their peers. The Queens gained a dedicated following through outdoor performances on the streets of Brooklyn and playing pop-up events in their community through the pandemic. \nA core value of the band is to play for as many audiences as possible to increase the visibility of female musicians in brass bands. Brass Queens tour regularly across the country and internationally. Recent highlights include a New Year’s Eve performance in Breckenridge\, multiple nights at Favela Chic in New Orleans\, and a sold out show at Cliff Bell’s in Detroit. They also make appearances on festival stages including the Ottawa Jazz Festival\, Northlands Music Festival\, MusikFest\, Duck Jazz Festival\, and multiple appearances at the Exit Zero Jazz Festival. Brass Queens has played major events like The Met Gala and David Byrne’s “Amazing Humans Doing Amazing Things!” Variety Show\, and for notable clients including New Balance\, Chanel\, Saks Fifth Avenue\, Tiffany & Co.\, Bombas\, Perrier\, Facebook\, Instagram\, and Pinterest. They have also performed on national television on Good Morning America\, and had multiple shows at iconic New York venues like The Capitol Theater\, Blue Note Jazz Club\, and Brooklyn Bowl. They are also the 2023 winners of We Love NYC’s Rider’s Choice Award\, after the people of New York voted the Queens as their favorite of the MTA’s Music Under New York’s roster of subway performers. \nThe band has developed a signature style that sits right at the intersection of the Big Apple and the Big Easy. Their sound is deeply inspired by and pays homage to the New Orleans brass band tradition while injecting the upbeat\, multifaceted energy of their New York home into each performance. The result is a nonstop party: a Brass Queens show will have you singing along to classic pop hits\, dancing your heart out to reggaeton\, and feeling like you’ve been transported to Frenchman Street. In February 2021\, Brass Queens released their debut EP “Royal Street\,” which takes listeners on a six-song journey beginning in the heart of New York City with a cover of Cameo’s “Candy\,” down to Royal St. with their take on a New Orleans traditional\, “Little Liza Jane.” In November 2023\, the band released their first full-length album titled “Black & Gold\,” which is an ode to the Brass Queen’s incredible early fanbase who supported the band from the virtual performances and socially-distanced street corners during the COVID-19 pandemic\, to the crowded clubs and packed venues of today. Less than a year later\, Brass Queens released their second full-length album and their first album of all-original music titled “Hot Tub Sessions Vol. I.” \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n “The ensemble pays tribute to the New Orleans brass band tradition\, using its force to generate a sonic capture of the city’s vitality.” — Relix\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n THIER MUSIC\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Part Time Drummer by Brass Queens – NPR Tiny Desk Submission 2023\n \n \n \n \n \n Lady Marmalade (brass band cover) LIVE at Cafe Wha?\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Learn More about the Brass Queens

SUMMARY:Mixed Roots
DESCRIPTION:Mixed Roots\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMixed Roots is truly that. Each member brings a unique musical heritage\, coming together to form a collective greater than the sum of its parts. \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrian\, an Irishman and bassist\, plays with multiple reggae groups across upstate New York in addition to Mixed Roots. Drawing on that experience\, he brings flavors from the Grateful Dead and beyond. Pete\, the band’s guitarist and also an Irishman\, plays with passion and precision\, backed by decades of experience in reggae\, rock\, and everything in between. The horn section\, featuring (at times) two trombones\, Dave and Catherine\, along with Scott on saxophone\, are all local musicians who bring fire and energy to the stage\, guaranteed to get audiences moving. George\, lead drummer and vocalist\, grew up in Accra\, Ghana\, where he learned and mastered traditional African rhythms. \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTogether\, Mixed Roots creates a sound as diverse as it is unified – melding reggae\, rock\, funk\, and Afrobeat into an irresistible groove. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n THIER MUSIC\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Mixed Roots Alive at Five\n \n \n \n \n \n Mixed Roots\, “Crisis” at the Savoy\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Learn More about Mixed Roots

SUMMARY:Warden and Co.
DESCRIPTION:Warden & Co.\n\n\nWarden & Co. is a folk-rock group hailing from the scenic landscapes of upstate New York\, known for their soulful melodies\, heartfelt lyrics\, and rich acoustic instrumentation. Formed around the songwriting talents of frontman; Seth Warden\, the band’s debut album “Somewhere” blends the raw\, earthy tones of traditional folk with the driving energy of rock\, creating a sound that feels both timeless and refreshingly modern. \nWith lush vocal harmonies and intricate violin from Doug Moody\, the band’s rhythm section; percussionist/drummer Brian Melick and bassist Matt Pettit\, use their world-class talent to help tell the stories within the songs.  \nSince their formation\, Warden and Co.’s music has resonated deeply with fans of artists like The Lumineers\, Fleet Foxes\, and early Dave Matthews Band. Their music captures the spirit of upstate New York—rugged\, heartfelt\, and full of soul—making them a beloved staple of the local music scene and beyond. Whether performing in cozy coffee houses or under the stars at outdoor festivals\, Warden and Co. continue to enchant audiences with their evocative sound and genuine connection to their roots. \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Their music captures the spirit of upstate New York – rugged\, heartfelt\, and full of soul – making them a beloved staple of the local music scene and beyond. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n THIER MUSIC\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Warden and Co. – Middle of Madness (Live from The Park Theater)\n \n \n \n \n \n “Stay Strong” live at The Parting Glass – Warden & Co.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Learn More about Warden & Co.

SUMMARY:Angelina & JP at the Inn of Lake George
DESCRIPTION:Angelina & JP\n\n\nAngelina & JP are a musical duo from opposite ends of New York’s Capital Region\, brought together by a shared love of all things music. Angelina Valente studied Musical Theatre\, while JP Hubbs focused on Piano – but their paths crossed in 2017 when they both joined an eight-piece bluegrass band. What started as a big group collaboration quickly revealed a deeper musical connection and a desire to explore more as a duo. \nTogether\, they dive into jazz standards\, discover fresh takes on the genre\, and write originals. But what really sets them apart is their knack for reimagining unexpected tunes—songs you’d never think of as jazz—infusing them with swing\, soul\, and style that’s entirely their own. \n\n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The Inn of Lake George\n12 McGillis Ave.Lake George\, NY 12845518.668.4442 \nThe Lobby Bar is a classic\, intimate cocktail lounge offering a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy handcrafted cocktails. SUMMARY:Scott Hopkins Trio with Special Guest Keith Pray at the Barnsider
DESCRIPTION:Scott Hopkins Trio with special guest Keith Pray\nFeaturing Lou Smaldone (bass)\, Brian Melick (percussion)\, & Keith Pray (keyboard & sax) \nThe Scott Hopkins Trio brings together seasoned musicians – Lou Smaldone on upright bass\, Brian Melick on percussion\, and special guest Keith Pray on keyboards (and sax) to explore the rich and varied landscape of jazz and its many intersections. Keith has released ten albums under his name\, most recently “Floating in Space and Time” on his label PrayNation Records. Keith is an in demand jazz educator\, having conducted many all-counties\, masterclasses\, clinics\, co-founding All Ears Jazz\, which develops jazz education workshops. \nKeith also holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) from the European Graduate School in Expressive Arts: Therapy\, Conflict Transformation and Education. \n“Make no mistake about it Keith Pray is a voice with which to be reckoned with. He has it all and leaves it all here\, a brilliant convergence of chops\, insight\, honesty of sound and superb writing skills. This confluence packs a solid\, creative punch\, a knock out. ” – Nick Mondello\, JazzTimes \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The Barnsider\n2112 US-9Lake George\, NY 12845518.668.5268 \nSerious BBQ!
