SUMMARY:Project Local: Vincent Woolley Photographs through March 1st
DESCRIPTION:Bio \nAs a graduate of William and Mary College with a degree in teaching\, Woolley decided that sitting in a classroom was not really where he wanted to be. His love of art and the outdoors led him to the life of a photographer\, and although he worked in many fields of photography\, landscape photography is his real love. His early work was influenced by photographers Edward Weston\, Ansel Adams\, Minor Whyte\, and Wynn Bullock.  \nHe soon developed his own style which was more personal and abstract.  Most of his early work was done with a 4 x 5 View Camera shooting black and white; today he works with digital cameras in both black and white and color. \nHe was awarded a grant to photograph in Antarctica in 2015. Previous exhibitions include: Little Church Gallery\, NJ After Image Gallery\, Dallas\, TX The Courthouse Gallery\, Lake George Various galleries in Florida Publications: Southwest Photo Dallas Photo Adirondack Life \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Artist’s Reception at the Caldwell-Lake George LibraryMonday\, February 10th6:00 – 8:00 PM \n \n \n \n \n \n Artist’s Statement \nThe work you will see in this exhibition covers many years.  As a landscape photographer\, my work includes anything that I find beautiful.  My favorite subjects include the Southwest\, ice\, river foam\, and water reflections\, all of which you can see here. I really like pictures that make you think and take a while to figure out. As my perception of the world around me changes\, so will my photos!  Enjoy! \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n Images: Top: Detail\, Ice Curtain Left: Fall Aspens \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The Caldwell-Lake George Library336 Canada StreetLakeGeorge\, NY 12845518-668-2528

SUMMARY:Project Local Reception: Mark Grimaldi Paintings & Jude Dolton Photogrpahs
DESCRIPTION:Join LGAP staff\, Library staff\, and our Project Local featured artists for a celebration of our newest Project Local Exhibition at the Caldwell Lake George Library. The reception is an opportunity to connect with our featured artists\, appreciate their work\, and support the arts and artists who live and work in our region. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n FEATURED ARTISTS\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Mark Grimaldi\nGrimaldi is renowned for his expertise in abstract expressionism; his artistic journey is deeply influenced by the iconic American artist\, Jackson Pollock. With a portfolio of work found in studios\, professional offices\, and private collections\, his style captivates viewers worldwide. \nMastering the “drip” technique over years of dedication\, Grimaldi infused his distinct flair into this iconic method. Seeking innovation\, he adapted the technique to diverse surfaces\, including elevated vertical planes\, without revealing traditional “drips.” \nHe also envisioned reimagining the spectrum of objects suitable for this style\, enriching each with narrative depth and emotive resonance. Through meticulousexperimentation\, Grimaldi perfected the fusion of paint type and application method\, achieving his envisioned results. \nEvery creation bears the essence of his soul\, ensuring each piece is a singular\, unparalleled original. Rejecting mass production\, he remains committed to the authenticity of his craft\, eschewing prints in favor of genuine\, intimate artworks. \nMark lives in Lake George. His work is shown at the Tivoli Arts Gallery in Tivoli\, NY\, and Art Gallery 71 in Rhinebeck\, NY\, and can be seen at markgrimaldi.com. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Jude Dolton\nYou see something\, you pull out your camera and take the picture.  That picture is almost exactly what you see in front of you right?  That’s what photography is at its core\, it’s a way to capture the world.  Since almost everyone has a camera in their pocket\, we are seeing the same photos over\, and over.  The more I have noticed this\, the more I have turned away from just documenting what I’m seeing.  Using long exposures\, I have been taking a more impressionistic approach.  I use the term Impressionism because much like the paintings from that era\, even with objects and subject matter you can identify the work is very much still abstract. \nJude Dolton is a 2019 graduate of Glens Falls High School. In 2022 they received a grant to photograph and document local motel signs resulting in a solo exhibition at the Warren County Historical Society.  She has exhibited locally with the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council\, North Country Arts\, and The Folklife Center at Crandall Library. Their work was also featured in the Top 100 Juried High School Student Art Show at The Hyde Collection (2018). She currently studies Visual Arts at Alfred University\, Alfred\, NY.

Ria is honored to have 22 of her original songs signed to publishing giant\, Warner/Chappell Music Int’l. \nChuck Lamb has been the pianist for the Brubeck Brothers Quartet for more than two decades and has composed for and played with the Quartet all over the world\, including Lincoln Center; the Newport\, Detroit\, Monterrey\, Bern and Saratoga Jazz Festivals; the Blue Note in Tokyo; Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow; Singapore with the Chinese National Orchestra; and more. When Chuck is not on tour with the Brubeck Brothers Quartet\, he performs regularly with his own ensembles\, including monthly as Jazz Artist-in-Residence for the highly acclaimed “Jazz at Caffe Lena” music series\, which Chuck cofounded in 2017 with producer extraordinaire\, Joel Moss\, in Saratoga Springs\, NY. \nTogether\, Ria and Chuck recently entered the world of television and film music and obtained a prime placement for one of their original songs in the opening monologue of the HBO MAX standup comedy special\, “Everything Must Go\,” starring Emmy-nominated Hannah Einbinder (of the Emmy-winning HBO MAX series\, “Hacks”). The couple also obtained three original song placements in the acclaimed documentary film\, “Exergue on documenta 14\,” which premiered at the esteemed Berlinale International Film Festival and received enthusiastic reviews. Ria’s single\, “Wanna Be There\,” received a nomination for “Record of the Year” at the 2024 Capital District Eddies Music Awards (“Eddies”). And Chuck took home the 2024 Eddies Music award for “Jazz Artist of the Year.” \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The Caldwell Lake George Library\n336 Canada StLake George\, NY 12845518.668.2528 \nA treasure in Lake George\, The Caldwell Lake George Library’s collection dates back to the 1880s when it was bequeathed after the death of local resident DeWitt Clinton Hay. SUMMARY:Coffee & Jazz
DESCRIPTION:James Rissacher@ The Caldwell Lake George Library336 Canada St\, Lake George\n \nthis program is proudly supported by A Long Time Fan of Jazz Weekend\n10am – 11am – For our early birds\, we invite you to join us for a new Jazz at the Lake program that combines the melodies of jazz with coffee and the camaraderie of fellow jazz enthusiasts. This program promises to spark lively conversation and create lasting connections with like-minded individuals who share your passion for the magic of jazz. \nAbout James Rissacher:James lives just south of Albany and grew up playing rock\, blues\, jazz guitar and graduated first chair classical guitar at SUNY Fredonia with honors. Since then over the last 20 years he has performed in classic music venues throughout the U.S and Europe and has recorded with numerous musicians.  James’ diverse background in and passion for guitar provides a special avenue for mixing different styles and improvisations within the particular genre he is playing. He likens music to food and needs variety to stay satisfied.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n 336 Canada StLake George\, NY 12845518.668.2528 \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The Caldwell Lake George Library\nA treasure in Lake George\, The Caldwell Lake George Library’s collection dates back to the 1880s when it was bequeathed after the death of local resident DeWitt Clinton Hay.
