Mixed Roots is truly that. Each member brings a unique musical heritage, coming together to form a collective greater than the sum of its parts.

Brian, an Irishman and bassist, plays with multiple reggae groups across upstate New York in addition to Mixed Roots. Drawing on that experience, he brings flavors from the Grateful Dead and beyond. Pete, the band’s guitarist and also an Irishman, plays with passion and precision, backed by decades of experience in reggae, rock, and everything in between. The horn section, featuring (at times) two trombones, Dave and Catherine, along with Scott on saxophone, are all local musicians who bring fire and energy to the stage, guaranteed to get audiences moving. George, lead drummer and vocalist, grew up in Accra, Ghana, where he learned and mastered traditional African rhythms.

Together, Mixed Roots creates a sound as diverse as it is unified – melding reggae, rock, funk, and Afrobeat into an irresistible groove.
