CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR MUSICIANS
Opportunities for Musicians
Summer Concert Series: Our Summer Concert Series presents between 9-10 shows on Wednesdays in July and August. Now in it’s 48th year, it is one of the longest-running concert series in the region. We dedicate 1/2 of our shows to local / regional artists and 1/2 of our shows to touring groups and strive to present a wide-range of genres from a diverse group of performers. Preference is given to artists who create original works. Artist selection and contracting begins in January and our line up is announced in April.
Jazz at the Lake: Our Jazz at the Lake (Lake George Jazz Weekend) festival is a showcase of emerging and established jazz musicians from all over the world. As one of the top twenty, longest consecutively running jazz festivals in the country, our festival is enjoyed by thousands of people annually. The festival always takes place the weekend after Labor Day weekend and runs for 3-days. We present 8 shows on the Shepard Park stage and partner with local businesses to present an additional 8 acts on Friday night and Saturday morning of the festival. We work with Daniel Kelly, a jazz pianist and past performer, to select our Shepard Park stage line-up. The curatorial process for selection begins in January and artist selection for all elements of our program happens in March and April.
Special Events: Throughout the year, LGAP works with musicians in a variety of ways. We often book musicians for our Summer Cruise and our Annual Holiday Party, as well as partner with musicians for our popular Bands and Beans event that takes place the last weekend in March.
Musicians and Agents,
Throughout the year we receive over 1000 emails from artists and agents who would like to perform with us.
We encourage all musicians and agents who are interested in performing to fill out our Performing Artist Submission Form.
Once completed, you will be in our Artist Database, which we use when selecting artists to perform for our Summer Concert Series, Jazz at the Lake festival, and for special events.
Our Summer Concert Series & Jazz at the Lake festival would not be possible without the support of The Town of Lake George, The Village of Lake George, The New York State Council on the Arts, Anonymous, and our friends and members!
